I had previously been using a smaller, 10-1/2 in Calphalon anodized aluminum stir fry pan which worked great for beef and broccoli, kung pao chicken and other stir fries. When I started making Thai dishes that involved woking noodles, I felt like my pan was too small and I needed a better nonstick surface for noodles. I looked at other Calphalon woks and stir fry pans, as I love the brand. I felt like this was the best deal for the price since it is as large as the other nonstick models with handles plus this one comes with a glass lid, a paddle, a bottle of sauce and a tea towel. Great extras and the best value. My drunken chicken and pad thai noodles come out perfect and they never stick. I have even found that I need less oil than before for a healthier meal. The diameter of the wok is about 13-1/2 in which is not very accurate on the item description and can easily hold 4 servings of your favorite stir fry dish.
